Weber 1428001 Performer Charcoal Grill, Dark Blue Review

Weber 1428001 Performer Charcoal Grill, Dark BlueJust what I needed. I have had weber kettles for years, this is the second one I bought, the old one is just fine, just needs to be cleaned up. However I really wanted the table, the tripod is nice but wheels are better. The built in starter works great, the charcoal bin is fantastic and with the table I have a place for the wireless thermometer and drink.
The best part I was able to get a color other than black (all the local home stores had to offer) and it was delivered right to the door. Assembly took about half an hour, the instructions were clear and easy to follow.

Weber 7555 Premium Cover for Weber Summit 600-Series Gas Grills Review

Weber 7555 Premium Cover for Weber Summit 600-Series Gas GrillsMy grill stayed in the garage until this cover arrived. When it did arrive, I was very pleased with the overall quality and workmanship from Weber... Nothing to be surprised there... There is only one thing I was not happy with (see below).

Pros:
- The grill cover is very heavy duty, thick material
- Perfect fit for my Summit S-620
- Velcro straps to secure the cover just in case of super high tornado speed winds
- Breathable to prevent those hot humid days from leavings marks on your grill

Cons:
- A little pricey, but a small price to pay to protect a big investment
- Vents in cover are not as shows in picture. The one I received has the vents where the 45-degree slope is, meaning, if rained on, the water will get all on to the side tray & side burner :(

Weber 3841001 Genesis E-310 Natural Gas Grill, BlackThis product came un-assembled. It was boxed extremely well with no missing parts and good instruction. As with my previous Weber BBQ that I used for 15 years this is a high quality product.

Weber 3870001 Genesis S-310 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3870001 Genesis S-310 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless SteelI have had 5 or so BBQ's in the last 26 yrs. The cheap ones like Charm Glow only lasted a year or so. About 10 years ago I got a Weber Sprit BBQ and it last until this year. I was able to rebuild the flavor bars and grill twice in that 10 year period. Weber is great in that you can get parts for old BBQ's. However, I live near the beach and BBQ a lot. The Sprit had an aluminum box and porclin coated iron parts for the grill and flavor bars. These parts rusted out and /or corroded. So this time I wanted a BBQ that was ALL stainless. In looking arround I found several makes that claimed to be stainless but had many nonstainless parts. The Weber Gennesis was expensive but is ALL stainless. Assemby was fairly easy but the diagrams (no writen instructions)take some studing at each step. Total time to assemble was 2.5 hr. This grill is well made and does a terrific job of BBQing. It is not cheap but I belive it is worth the money in the long run. The S310 is a little big for my use and I would have liked a two burner Sprit sized BBQ but they do not make that size in stainless.

O-Grill 3000 Portable Gas Barbecue Grills Review

O-Grill 3000 Portable Gas Barbecue GrillsI love this grill. It's cool looking, has a great storage box feature and a nice large round cast iron surface.
It's lid is key when cooking on the beach or in a windy situation. I also have the Weber q 200 and while that grill is great I prefer this one for transportability and color. The Weber runs about $200. I lucked out and bought this oneon Amazon on sale for $136.00. I can't speak to the longevity of this grill but I would buy it over the Weber if I had to choose one.
From what I understand the manufacturer of the O-3000 is an expert in making propane tools. It shows with this grill. The regulator seems to be very high quality, the auto ignition button works in a snap and the flame from the stainless steel burner is solid, strong and blue. I've only had it a few weeks now and hope to give another review after a long summer of beaching, tailgating and camping.

UPDATE;
Well, Ive had this grill for over a year now and its still great. I use it on the beach and camping. It still burns strong and even.
The food the design and the ease of use make this a great grill to own. In fact,I just bought the O-Grill 1000 model ( smaller version) for more intimate beach and camping days and I LOVE it too!

Weber 4411001 Spirit E-210 Propane Grill, Black Review

Weber 4411001 Spirit E-210 Propane Grill, BlackI rented a house in Sedona, Arizona for a month where they had a gas grill. Friends visited and grilled up some outrageous steaks and salmon. I had a little Weber Smokey Joe at home that I had not used for years. The charcoal system became too dirty and too much trouble. I never purchased a gas grill as I thought that really great tasting food could not be created on a gas grill.

When I returned home from my trip I went to Target, Walmart and Home Depot shopping for grills. Home Depot had a full-featured, large stainless steel grill on sale. Orginal price $369 - Sale price $199. The floor unit was the only one remaining unit in all the Phoenix stores. I won't mention the brand name. I purchased the grill and arranged for friends to pickup the following day as it was too big to load into my SUV. I knew it was poorly constructed but the price was too tempting.

When I got home that evening I started reading reviews on the grill that I had just purchased. Nearly all of them were negative. I saw the Webers on the floor at Home Depot. The quality was CLEARLY superior. However, they were also considerably more expensive. I decided that I wanted a pleasant grilling experience. I could not picture having friends over for dinner and having burner difficulties.

I returned to Home Depot early the next morning. canceled the original purchase and purchased the Weber Spirit E-210. I had Home Depot assemble the grill for me.

Cooking on a gas grill is a either a science or art. If you don't know how to do it, the results will be poor. I watched a gas grilling video on [...] by an executive chef from Morton's Steak House. [...]
This video got me going in the right direction. The key points are high heat preheat and closed cover cooking. You can copy and paste the link to the video into your browser.

This grill heats up to 600 degrees quickly. Everything about it is quality, quality. There is a wonderful disposable drip pan system with foil drip pans. The grill plates are heavy steel meaning you will get even heating over all of your meats. Some other reviews mention this unit as having too small a cooking area. Obviously they are cooking for soccer teams. In my opinion, this grill is big enough for any family. There is no side burner or rotisserie although an attachment can be purchased. I have a Showtime rotisserie so that wasn't a big deal for me.

I love this grill. It is truly one of the quality items that I own.

Weber 516002 Q 120 Gas Grill Review

Weber 516002 Q 120 Gas GrillThe Weber Q120 is a fantastic little grill. As a vegetarian, I wasn't sure just how much I'd actually use a grill, and didn't want to BBQ on something that felt unstable or flimsy... well... I've had the grill for almost a month now and I think I've only missed grilling 2 of those days.

Veggie kabobs are a breeze (it holds 6 perfectly) as are bocaburgers, tofurkey beer brats, and jumbo dogs.I'm sure for my carniverous friends, it would work equally well.

I'm loving it so much I just ordered a cookbook today for vegetarian grilling so that I can expand my repetoire (sic).

Best Features:
- easy to put together
- cast iron grate
- shape/size
- fantastic electric starter that doesn't have an 'explosive' start to it

It is worth the price... I think it will last a good long time.

Char-Griller 3001 Grillin' Pro 40,800-BTU Gas Grill Review

Char-Griller 3001 Grillin' Pro 40,800-BTU Gas GrillI've done plenty of research and seen many grills before picking the 'Char-Griller Pro 3001'.I think if you really want a solid grill that lasts forever, get a Weber. For me paying $700+ for a similar Weber isn't an option. You also should beware of the inexpensive stainless steel grills (anything under $400).Their not stainless, the metal is thin & flimsy and they start showing signs of rust in a matter of months.I even saw some demos with rust stains??This shouldn't be a problem with the finish on the Char-Griller.Plus I noticed it ranked well in Consumer Reports.I picked mine up at Menards for $149.00 (on 06/26/09).
At times it was challenging to put together. The pictures and directions could've been more descriptive on which way things face when you put them together (ie: the legs).Plus the location of parts within the box.I had to find parts that I needed early in the installation that were wrapped up with things late in the installation?! Once you get it together it's pretty solid. It starts easily and heats up fast. For me in less than 5-10 min. on high the temperature gage was at 650 degrees (on a windy 70 degree day in Chicago). The grates are porcelain coated cast iron. That's a feature you want to look for in a grill. You'll see those on higher priced models. The grates have a side for 'Searing' and a side for 'Grilling'.They cleanup easily and give GREAT grill marks. Now mind you my last grill was a 12 year old 'Char-Broil' that was shot and I've only used this one twice. But from what I can tell (so far) unless you want to pay a ton for something better this is a great grill for the price.

Update: 07-27-09
It's still a great grill for the price.I have one thing I never liked and if you're coming from an older grill like me you should be aware of this.Older gas grills (5 or 10 years) had the burners right along the bottom of the grill base with a metal shield over the top.You then had 5 inches or so between the shield and the grilling grates. This would give you space for 'Lava Rock', 'Ceramic Brickets' and some wood chips if you choose. The rocks or bricks would catch grease and reduce flare ups.To keep the grill clean you change the rock out once a season or so.NONE OF THE NEW GRILLS (including the Char-Griller) are setup like this. They ALL have the burners and shields right below the grilling grates. And you have no room for anything below the burners. So you need to be sure to keep the bottom of the grill CLEAN and CLEAR of debris (drip trays too).As I stated before this grill heats fast and puts out a good flame.Well after cooking about 10 times or so I had some debris and an oily film on the bottom from cooking & basting things.Yep you guessed it, FIRE, FIRE!Luckily I caught it after just a couple minutes of cooking and shut it down and put everything out.I cleaned out the bottom turned it back on and it was fine.So be safe and keep it clean!

Weber 3880001 Genesis S-320 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3880001 Genesis S-320 Natural Gas Grill, Stainless SteelThe Weber was top rated by a consumer testing firm and they are right.

It cooks great, has lots of power and can also cook at low temps.

I owned my last Weber for over 15 years and love this new one.

You can spend less and get lower quality and more for a bigger grill; but this grill looks great, cooks great and is big enough for most peoples needs.

Weber 4421001 Spirit E-310 LP Gas Grill, Black Review

Weber 4421001 Spirit E-310 LP Gas Grill, BlackGot tired of buying inexpensive grills that only lasted a few years. My wife had owned a Weber grill years ago and she thought that they were the "best".She could give a lecture on the pluses that they have.

Since there are only two of us, I found that this was the Weber for us.Not too expensive and small enough to be able to move around.

Amazon shipped it thru CEVA, and they called and delivered it on the time agreed upon.Very professional service.

OK-now for the review of the grill.
Was impressed by the way it was packed.Lots of reinforced cardboard, all the parts were tightly wrapped, and great care was apparent in the effort to prevent scratching or rubbing of parts.

HOWEVER, putting it together was a real pain.It took me about two hours, (by myself). But what I really didn't like was the assembly instructions. THERE WERE NO WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS.The entire assembly instruction sheet was a series of photos.Found it very tiring.Maybe I'm just getting old, but I like the "put section A together with 1 inch bolts etc).I was beginning to wonder if Weber made these instructions for people that can't read.

I was impressed with the way the parts fit together.Nothing sloppy and all of the holes lined up.Everything seemed to be of exceptional quality. Heavy lid and box.

Fired it up after assembly and it hit 600 degrees in about 5 minutes.Perfect blue flame in all burners, and although the top got extremely hot, the side trays remained cool.Nice and even heat all throughout the box, with sensitive flame adjustment throughout the entire range of the individual knobs.

I liked the idea of being able to buy various parts for replacement. The warranty is a generous one, and seems to be an indication of the quality of their product. Although this grill is a little pricey, it should last years with proper cleaning and maint.Did I mention what a great price it was?

Good buy.

Weber 3741001 Genesis E-310 Propane Gas Grill, Black Review

Weber 3741001 Genesis E-310 Propane Gas Grill, BlackThere's really nothing more that can be said to further the reputation of this series of grills. Those of us that own the Genesis E-310 series grill know how well this grill is manufactured, and just how very well it performs its duties. It is, by far, the very best gas grill in this price range I have ever owned or used.A couple of notes:
-The cross-over ignition system works wonderfully (it takes less than 3 seconds to fire up all three burners
-Those who say that their gas grill does not get hot enough to sear meats don't own this grill- I've had it up to 550 degrees on a very cold MN winter day
-That said, it seems to go through a good amount of propane when running all 3 burners on high...but that is probably obvious considering the temps you can obtain when running it on full.(It will be interesting to see if I can get 500 + degrees to sear meats on medium setting on a summer day....).The fuel gauge inside the cabinet is also a handy feature
-As always with this series of grills- No Flare ups, and the flavorizer bars do what Weber says they will, namely vaporize fats and juices into smoke that adds flavor to what you are grilling
-To keep this review balanced, there is one negative- I dislike the tool holders.Although there are plenty, your tools pretty much have to have one of those leather hanging loop things to keep the tools from falling off or even to use the holders (a small price to pay I guess)

Finally, the Genesis E-310 I purchased came in a copper color, something I haven't seen on Amazon, or on Weber's site for that matter.Maybe I missed it, or maybe I got lucky.Either way, it looks pretty darn sharp on our deck when it isn't covered.

Weber 396002 Q 200 Portable Gas Grill Review

Weber 396002 Q 200 Portable Gas GrillI am writing this long term review because as so many reviews are just initial impressions when the product is new. They are hard to find, but some people will write a review later in the product's life cycle, especially if they have had problems. This is not one of those "problem" reviews. The Weber Q is my all time favorite grill.

Background Info:

I bought my "Q" back in 2004 when they first came out; there were only two models at the time, the Q and the Baby Q.The overall design theory and execution of a portable gas grill was amazing in my eyes - like nothing I had ever seen before.I was in the market for a gas grill, and the portable nature yet still nice enough to grill on a daily basis design sold me instantly.I had used my dad's Weber gas grill since he bought it new in the mid 90's (comparable to today's Genesis models) and was impressed in every aspect, especially the longevity and quality of the components compared to "big box store" look-a-like grills. The price for a standalone Weber, like my dad's, was too high in my opinion, and I wanted more for my money. The Q's dual nature fit the bill perfectly. In addition to the Q, I bought about every accessory available at the time:rolling cart, Weber Q specific tools, cover, hose for external LP tank, etc.Every accessory followed right in line with the Q's portable design intent. The tools are my favorite as they snap into the side tables and easily fold up inside enhancing the go-anywhere part of the design.I recently (Summer 2008) upgraded my home setup to include the stationary cart for a more finshed look at home on the back patio.Performance:

The grill holds a surprisingly large amount of food.I can grill for the whole family or more with no problems, (This totally depends on what you are grilling).I have grilled everything from the ubiquitous burgers, dogs, and brats to fajita meat and vegetables to corn on the cob and steaks.I can even fit 2-3 whole racks of ribs on the Q.Heating is surprisingly even with the rectangular shaped burner (which is stainless steel and after 4 seasons is showing zero signs of wear, corrosion, etc.).The heavy, thick cast iron grate should get most of the credit for the even heating.I really like the wide bars and tight spacing of the grate; I can grill sliced veggies and meats as if I were cooking on a skillet with no fear of them falling though.Temperature control is ultra easy with the single burner knob.I have taken the Q tailgating at sporting events, to picnics at the park, to friends' parties, etc. and it has performed flawlessly. It offers tons of cooking room for the size and minimal effort to bring along with the clever design of the grill and accessories.People are always amazed when they watch me unpack/pack the Q.Other than an occasional and end of season cleaning, this thing is maintenance free.Just brush off the grate, check the drip pan, and clean out the burned drippings in the bottom from time to time.

Final Thoughts:

Looking back at my Q experience, I wouldn't have it any other way. In fact, I can't imagine owning any other gas grill - except another Q.If the day comes when I have to replace my beloved Q, I would probably stick with the original size, the 200 series; it is the perfect balance. The 300 series looks nice with the bigger size and extra burner, but I don't necessarily need the size and I feel it loses some of the portable utility that makes the original Q so great.

Designed for outdoor grilling at home or at the lake, this portable gas grill features a 12,000-BTU stainless-steel burner for fast heating of its 280-square-inch cooking surface. The unit's deceivingly compact size offers ample space for grilling 10 king-size strip steaks, 10 veggie kabobs, or three chicken quarters, plus a portabello or two. The unit ignites at the push of a button for foolproof start-ups, and its infinitely adjustable burner valve with a high-quality regulator makes it possible to access just the right amount of heat needed for the job. Meat sizzles on the porcelain-enameled cast-iron cooking grates, while drippings collect in the removable drip tray below for lower-fat cooking and easy cleanup. Other highlights include a cast-aluminum lid and body, a glass-reinforced nylon frame, a large weather-resistant lid handle, and two Tuck-Away worktables with built-in tool hooks. For added convenience, the side tables fold up, storing neatly away inside the grill when they're not being used to hold platters of food, seasonings, and sauces. Weber 3780001 Genesis S-320 Propane Gas Grill, Stainless Steel Review

Weber 3780001 Genesis S-320 Propane Gas Grill, Stainless SteelThe reason I bought this bbq was 1)it was rated the best bbq between $500 and $1000 by most all rating bureau's, 2)it uses high quality 302 s/s, 3)has s/s cooking racks which to me are easier to clean, 4) its a very pretty bbq, and 5) it's a Weber, made in the US.The E-320, withcolored panels, in my opinon, isn't as nice looking as the s/s unit.

I bought this bbq from Amazon about 10 days ago.It was shipped for free via Eagle Transportation.I think Amazon realized large items shipped UPS were arriving damaged. At least the few large items I previously ordered and shipped UPS arrived that way. The shipping estimate was 10-14 days with the free option.Four days after I saw that the item was shipped I received a call from Eagle's Los Angeles depot asking me when I wanted it delivered.I couldn't believe that !I told them the next day. They gave me a time frame, 10-1,asking if that was agreeable. At 11 Eagle arrived, off loaded my bbq in one huge box and asked where I wanted it.The box was completely intact and undamaged.I've never encountered that kind of service from any carrier.Cudos to Amazon on choosing this shipper.

Now, the bbq.Weber's Genesis S-320 LP.I'm a very handy guy with a garage full of tools.I unpacked all the parts and had them spread out on a blanket so I wouldn't scratch them on the cement floor.Everyone's greatest dread is the assembly instructions usually done in a foreign country and poorly translated in to English. But, since Weber is made in the USA, I found the step by step numbered instructions very easy to follow. All the little screws, washers, and bolts were nicely packaged and oh my goodness... they were all there. There were no shortages of any parts. One or two extras in a package would have been nice since I usually drop one of something and lose it somewhere under a bench in the garage.Anyway, the bbq went together effortlessly.I had my propane tank filled and used the weight hanger inside the stand which showed the tank was full.Another nice touch.

Now for the good part; using it.I did that tonight for the first time on Mother's Day.I thought that was appropriate.Anyway, I made cheesburgers - one of my most favorite bbq foods.I read the instructions on how Weber thought hamburgers should be cooked; medium heat with the lid down. They recommend always keeping hte lid down to cook and only opening it to turn the food or check to see if it's done.I also used the side burner just because... it's there.I've never had a bbq with a side burner and found it handy but a space hog.The bbq did what it is intended to do very well.It cooked my burgers in record time with the lid down.We also cooked corn on the cob wrapped in tin foil in the grill at the same time.Everything turned out great.

Now, my trivial gripes. The right side table has all the controls. That only leaves a very small amount of space between the control knobs and the bbq as a useable work area. One should be careful placing items in that area because being so close to the bbq it does tend to get a bit warm.I don't know why Weber couldn't put the controls on the front of the bbq leaving two nice sized working platforms.I found that a bit irritating especially when I used the left side burner.I had no place to set down plates, platters, etc.I had to pull up another small table.I don't know how often I'll actually use the side burner. If I don't use it ofen which I probably won't then it's really not an issue.

Did I say gripes?Well that's all I can think of.Overall, I'm very happy with the Weber Genesis S-320.I like it, alot.Would I buy it again if I only wanted to spend around $750??You bet !I can see why it's ratedhighly in all the reviews. And, you get Webers great guarantee and customer service.Go for it...you won't be disappointed.

Product Description:
For great flavor, gourmet searing, even cooking, multiple courses, easy cleaning, and good looks, nothing beats the Weber Genesis outdoor grill. An enclosed cart is great for storing cooking utensils and grilling supplies out of sight. Stainless steel doors, shroud, and handles look sharp, resist corrosion and are easy to clean. An accent-colored, painted steel frame offers plenty of cooking stability. A center-mounted thermometer makes it easy to monitor progress. And, for optimal durability over the years, Weber designed the Genesis with cast aluminum end caps.
The cooking system, rated at 42,000 Btu's, includes three seamless stainless steel burners and an electronic ignition system for easy starts. The cooking grates feature 7-milimeter-diameter stainless steel rods that won't warp or distort under flame for years of outdoor cooking fun. Weber's stainless steel, angled Flavorizer bars prevent fat- and grease-fueled flare-ups that over-sear foods. Rather than unwanted flames, juices drip on the bars where they sizzle and smoke; adding extra flavor to grilled chicken, steaks, and kabobs. And, if Bob wants burgers, Stacy wants steaks, and Vicky wants veggie burgers, there's plenty of room for all with 507 square inches of primary cooking area. Great for keeping the buns and side dishes warm with the entrees sizzle, the warming rack measures 130 square inches, for a total cooking area of 637 square inches. Top it off with a handy 12,000 Btu side burner for sauteing trimmings and you might opt for this grill over the kitchen stove--year round!
More great features include six tool holders, an enclosed tank storage area, a precision fuel gauge, two stainless steel work surfaces, two heavy duty locking front casters, and two heavy-duty swivel back casters. Don't know what to grill first? Weber throws in a handy cookbook so you can get summer grilling underway.

DeckMate 20455 Contempo 17 by 13-Inch Gas Grill Review

DeckMate 20455 Contempo 17 by 13 inch Gas GrillThe grill is a wonderful purchase. If you'r not handy with a screw driver this item would be some what difficult to put together, but can be done. Grill is very portable and great to take with you on trips.
Cooking for 1 or 2 people this grill does well.
The only negative is the top shelf gets in the way of turn meat. I've
remove my top shelf. The small camping propane tank are great for portable usage but would recomend getting the adpator to use a propane
tank. Grill is great for small patios, apartments or someone that does not want to have a huge grill in the back yard.

Cuisinart CGG-200 All-Foods 12,000-BTU Tabletop Gas Grill Review

Cuisinart CGG-200 All-Foods 12,000-BTU Tabletop Gas GrillI just got this grill...it's a state of the art tabletop grill. The grill is already put together, so it's essentially ready to be used "out of the box". The grill is very light, so it's efficiently portable and easy to carry. It can fit on small or large tables and comes with a stainless steel veggie plate that is great for cooking vegetables, kabob's etc. It's got a easy to attach catch pan dipper that just slides on under bottom of the grill. The grill starts immediately (push and turn to light the burner) and the heat comes on quick; the temperature gauge on the top is very accurate and allows superior cooking capabilities, which is the best part of this grill. i cooked chicken the first night i got the grill, and it came out perfectly. For those of you using Weber or other more commercial grills, I'd recommend looking at this. I use to have a weber, used for tailgates etc - this grill is 10 times better and reasonably priced for it's quality.

Weber 1520 Propane Gas Go-Anywhere Grill Review

Weber 1520 Propane Gas Go-Anywhere GrillI bought one of these things ten years ago and despite twice replacing it with big, traditional-looking (and very expensive) grills I keep coming back to this one.In fact, when we bought our latest one at a localfireplace/grill store, the owner just couldn't stop talking about thischeap little grill. He confided to me in a low voice that if I were tolift the lid of his own $2500 home gas barbecue, I'd find this little gemsitting inside because it's all he uses too.
Why?It's not ease ofcleaning or durability or any of that stuff (they rust out after a fewyears sitting on the porch). And you'd better buy a big propane bottlewith an adapter hose if you don't want to those little gas cylinders tosuddenly empty out on you mid-meal while you're cooking for guests...No,the reason I adore this is that it just plain grills better than anythingelse on the market - and we've tried a lot of them.
My wife, the culinaryschool grad, thinks it's the "flavorizer" that does it (the metalpan that replaces those awful lava rocks). When we grill salmon we justcover that metal pan with alderwood chips and let the smoke penetrate thefish while it grills with the lid on tight - flat out beating everyrestaurant or neighborbood grilled fish ever made.Friends of mine simplywon't cook salmon for us.
Even though we virtually never clean the thing,it simply does the best job flavor-wise of all our grills. If you crank itup to high for 10 minutes, then grill with the top closed (never open) youget very consistent heat which is the secret to good grilling.
Somecookbook author who writes barbecue books constantly repeats the phrase"Know Your Fire" like a mantra. This fire is 100% consistent, heats up in minutes (again, no lava rocks to soak up heat) and producessuperb results for us.If you know your fire, this is the fire to know.
